Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Limited (IEPL) has added another shinning feather to its cap by winning with distinction the 2014 international safety award administered by the British Safety Council (BSC), United Kingdom.
Out of 463 companies that were audited last year, 120 recorded pass marks, while 300 got merit. IEPL emerged in the top league of few companies who won the award with distinction. Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals was the only company in Nigeria that emerged in the distinction category!
In a letter from BSC signed by its Chief Executive, Alex Botha, informing IEPL of the feat, the renowned safety auditors noted that “the award clearly demonstrates your commitment to health, safety and well-being of your workforce during 2013”.
Managing director of IEPL, Manish Mundra, received news of the award with great elation, and congratulated the entire team for a job well done. “Let’s continue to work very hard; we will continue to win,” he said. In 2012, IEPL also won the Sword of Honour on account of demonstrating “an outstanding commitment to health and safety management during the last 12 months”.
